Overview
Bushnell, an iconic name in precision optics and outdoor gear, partnered with Kwanso to create an IoT-powered mobile application for the RCBS MatchMaster powder dispenser.
The goal was to give shooting and reloading enthusiasts an intuitive, mobile-first experience to control, calibrate, and monitor powder dispensing with unprecedented accuracy.
The Challenge
The RCBS MatchMaster was engineered to be one of the most precise powder dispensers on the market. To unlock its full potential, Bushnell needed:
- A mobile companion app that seamlessly connected with the dispenser via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
- Secure user authentication and device pairing workflows.
- Intuitive calibration, configuration, and dispense flows optimized for iOS and Android.
- A scalable backend using AWS IoT for device messaging, state management, and future firmware updates.
- Enterprise-grade security with SSO, OAuth 2.0, and biometric login (Touch ID & Face ID).
Our Approach
Kwanso built the app using React Native with deep integrations into AWS IoT Core and BLE APIs, ensuring cross-platform performance and hardware-level precision.
